Dilson Jose Herrera Garcia Celebrates Mets Success

The New York Mets are currently celebrating their clinching of the Major League Baseball (MLB) National League - East division, after defeating the Los Angeles Dodgers 3-2. One of their new stars is 21 year old Dilson Herrera.

Dilson Herrera was born in Cartagena, Colombia on 03 March 1994 and is the youngest player on the New York Mets roster. He is also the first Colombian born player to play for the Mets in MLB. The Mets selected Dilson's contract from Binghamton (AA) of the Eastern League on August 29 2014 and he made his major league debut that very night! Dilson was just 20 years &179 days at the time of his debut becoming the youngest Mets player to debut since Ruben Tejada (20 years, 162 days) and Jenrry Mejia (20 years, 178 days) on April 7, 2010. Dilson finished 2014 as the youngest player on an MLB roster and is now a firm favourite with MLB fans, especially those following the New York Mets. Naturally, he is a hero to many baseball mad youngsters back in Colombia.

Huge congratulations to Dilson on his amazing achievements and to his team-mates for clinching the title in Los Angeles!
